The British University in Dubai celebrates its thirteenth cohort of Masters and PhD graduates

Under the patronage and in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, CEO and Chairman of the Emirates Group, The British University in Dubai celebrated the graduation of its 13th cohort of PhD and Masters graduates.

 The University’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdullah Alshamsi, congratulated the graduates and said: “The British University in Dubai marks today another milestone in its development. We are very proud to see another cohort of our graduates walk across the stage and join the growing community of our alumni in Dubai and the region. These are our young graduates on whom we rely to disseminate knowledge and science in our society and to grow our economy. This number of graduates is yet another testament to BUiD’s commitment and dedication to spreading the culture of research in the UAE.”

The ceremony was held on 19 December 2018 at the Cultural and Scientific Association in Al Mamzar in the presence of the University's Council members, members of faculty and staff, and the relatives and friends of the graduates. 37 doctorate and 220 Master holders have graduated making it the largest cohort of graduating students in the history of the University, by both numbers and diversity of specialisations. For the first time, the University marked its first PhD graduates in Architecture and Sustainable Built Environment, in addition to Project Management, Education, Computer Science and Business.
