Q: What are the fees?
A: BUiD tuition fees are comparable to leading UK universities. The tuition fees for the Masters programme can be seen below. However we are offering special rates for the Academic Year 2013-2014 since BUiD is celebrating its 10th Anniversary this year. Q: What are the Tuition Fee for PG Diploma & Certificate?

A: The Tuition Fee for PG Diploma & Certificate are:

    PG Dip in Education – AED 54,000
    PG Dip for other courses – AED 57,000
    Certificate for other courses- AED 28,500

Q: What are the entry requirements? 
A: BUiD academic entry requirements are comparable to top UK universities. A minimum of an upper second class degree or equivalent (Grade Point Average of 3.0 out of 4.0).  Some programmes may have other specific entry requirements which can be found in the     programme information

Q: What standard of English language is required? 
A: IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL equivalent (580 paper-based, Internet based 92 and 237 computer- based) for MSc Project Management, Master of Education, and all our PhD and Doctorate Programes.  IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL equivalent (550 paper-based) is required for all other programmes.

Q: How long does a Master's programme usually take to complete?
A: Masters programmes normally last for one and half year full-time and two years part-time.

Q: Is financial sponsorship available?
A: BUiD is normally able to offer a number of scholarships for each intake to enable well qualified students who are unable to meet the full cost of fees to take up places.

Q: What are the University timings ?
A: Classes starts from 6 pm to 10 pm on working days or Saturdays from 9 am to 5 pm.

Q: What is a research-based programme?
A: In a research-based programme the student is required to undertake original and credible research assignments and a final dissertation or thesis. This may be scientific, documentary, ethnographic or action-research. Critical analysis of the data, based on strong theoretical foundations, is then followed by generalization and applications that maybe made.

Q: How is a research-based programme different from a taught programme?

Q: What is the distinct advantage of pursuing a research-based programme?
A: While the taught modules of research-based programmes give students a strong theoretical foundation, the assignments and dissertation help them to acquire research skills, understand different research methodologies and apply them to real environments transferring knowledge and  research expertise to their own areas of responsibility.

Q: What kind of research in undertaken at BUiD?
A: One of the key objectives of BUiD is to become a regional leader in promoting and conducting world class research and innovation to create new knowledge and solutions relevant to the needs of the UAE.
In working towards its goal of playing an important role in developing research in the region, BUiD has set up a research committee which comprises representatives from BUiD's four Faculties. The committee aims to identify, plan and conduct research agendas nationally and regionally through close collaboration with local, national and regional governments.

Some of the key strategic areas of research at BUiD are Arabic Language Technology, Derivatives, Educational Management, Electronics Enterprises Markets, English Language Teaching and Applied Linguistics, Environmental Designs, Financial Risk Management, Islamic Financial Products, Management of Technology, Performance Improvement Strategy, Promoting Excellence in Construction Industry, Special Needs Education in the Region and Sustainable Innovation and Development in Industry

Q: What makes a BUiD student different from students of other universities?
A: In addition to developing research skills and theoretical knowledge BUiD students also acquire strong presentation and communication skills. They acquire these skills by working closely with the Faculty members who combine experience and expertise in their field.

All BUiD students are assigned personal tutors who act as mentors throughout his/her study period at the University. Personal tutors help students in choosing modules, offer guidance on assignments and support students in the successful completion of his/her degree programme.

When undertaking their dissertations BUiD students also work under direct supervision of their dissertation supervisors who help them select topics that are appropriate  for postgraduate research and both relevant to the region and the student's work and experience. As a result of the close partnership between students and Faculty, and the confidence students gain in conducting their own research. Many students at BUiD present papers at International Conferences and publish papers in leading journals and international publications with their academic staff.
