About BUiD: Professional Development and Examination Centre
The Professional Development and Examinations Centre (PDEC) is part of The British University in Dubai and facilitates those who wish to pursue short term or continued development educational courses.
PDEC was established in 2006 when the University saw the growing demand in the market for individuals wishing to upgrade their qualifications, acquire professional certifications, and gain additional skills that may lie outside of their areas of core competencies. We have also forged partnerships with governmental and non-governmental agencies and organisations throughout the UAE and GCC for the provision of organisational training. In a highly competitive job and business market PDEC offers industry-relevant and globally recognised courses that enable both students and employees not only to hold a certification but also to prove competencies in a practical way.
At PDEC we oversee TAQATI, Professional Development Courses and Certifications, IELTS and Proctoring and Examinations.
Doing a professional development course with PDEC
The British University in Dubai offers opportunities for formal education in the form of academic degrees from the undergraduate to doctoral level. Yet these are just part of our commitment to transforming our students into innovative, ethical and creative lifelong learners. For the past five years we have also provided opportunities for our learners to upgrade their skills and certify themselves through our portfolio of continued development courses in energy management, law and arbitration, engineering, risk & innovation, research, marketing, supply chain management, banking and finance, leadership and management.
