BUiD academic staff participates in the 14th Annual Conference of Maritime Law and Policy
Dr Derar Al-Daboubi, Assistant Professor of Law, participated in the 14th Annual Conference of Maritime Law and policy which was held at City, University of London on 24 May 2024.
In his paper titled, ‘Transfer of Property in the Goods Sold while being Transported in the High Seas Leg’, Dr Al-Daboubi, investigated determining the time of acquiring the ownership by a purchaser while the goods are transported via the high seas leg.
He provided some recommendations to fill the lacuna of not regulating such an issue whether in international instruments or in national statutes, which may give rise to controversial disputes adversely affecting the resilience and stability of international trade.
The conference brings together academics, postgraduate researchers, practitioners and other industry professionals to present their research, areas of work, and opinions.
