BUiD participates in an International Symposium on Transformative Leadership and Decolonial Praxis, Toronto

Prof. Eman Gaad, Dean of the Faculty of Education and Rawy Thabet, Academic Associate at the Faculty of Education –  Doctoral Training Centre, presented a paper titled “Parents’ Inclusion: Impact of capacity-building programme for parents of children with disability” at an International Symposium on Transformative Leadership and Decolonial Praxis, which was hosted by University of Toronto, Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. This symposium was organised by the Centre for Leadership and Diversity over two days, 16th and 17th October 2020.

In their paper, Prof Eman and Rawy examined the effectiveness of a capacity-building programme on parents of children with various types of disability. The results suggest that the programme had a positive impact on both the parent participants and their children with disability.

The virtual symposium invited scholars, policy-makers, practitioners, and community activists from around the world to share research and exchange ideas on critical issues impacting the field of educational leadership, policy, and practice. The event provided presenters and participants with an excellent opportunity to share new ideas and learn from others.
