BUiD staff participate in the Higher Education Conference 2019
Hugh Martin, Registrar and Chief Administrative Officer, and Joe Hazzam, Head of Communication, Marketing and External Relations at BUiD participated in the Higher Education Conference 2019 hosted by Al Tamimi and Co at the Four Seasons Jumeirah Beach Resort on Thursday 10 October.
Over 150 senior university, industry and government leaders from the UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, the UK, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, and others participated in this invitation-only event.
Hugh Martin was one of the experts on the keynote panel that discussed ’Key International Trends in Higher Education’ where the focus was on the impact of disruptive technology, the funding of R&D, and the role of the private sector.
Joe Hazzam participated in a session entitled ‘Data and social media – a Higher Education perspective’, where data and social media risks and opportunities for higher education were discussed in addition to the latest data privacy laws.
