BUiD’s students wins best paper award at the Information System Design & Intelligent Applications Conference
Rajesh Thomas, BUiD’s student on the PhD Computer Science programme, won Best Paper Award at the 9th International Conference on Information System Design & Intelligent Applications (ISDIA 2025). His paper, titled: “Botnet Detection and Classification from Network Traffic Byte Streams using Deep Learning”, was co-authored with his supervisors Dr. Suleiman Yerima and Professor Khaled Shaalan. His research contributes significantly to the field of Cybersecurity and AI-driven botnet detection.
The ISDAI 2025 conference was held at the University of Wollongong Dubai (UOWD) in partnership with Springer Nature, to explore AI for Healthcare and exchange insights on intelligent computing with researchers, scientists, engineers, students, and industry practitioners.
