Visa guidelines

In order to apply for visa, students must obtain an unconditional offer letter along with CAS letter from University of Glasgow.

— Students must demonstrate you have the money required to meet the maintenance requirement when applying for a Student Visa.

— Visa application fee: When you submit your Student Visa application form online, you will need to pay a visa application fee – this is £490 (when using the “Standard” application service)

— Maintenance requirement: You will need to have enough money to cover: any unpaid tuition fees (see your CAS / official tuition fee receipts), plus £1023 for each month of your course (up to 9 months (£9207) for living costs

Please note: You must demonstrate you have the money required to meet the maintenance requirement when applying for a Student Visa. In addition to making sure you have the money required for your visa application, it is also important to ensure you have enough money to cover your tuition fees and living costs for the duration of your studies in order to be able to continue with and complete your course as planned.

— Immigration Health Surcharge: The amount you pay for IHS will depend on the length of visa you will be granted. Where your overall course is longer than 12 months you can expect UKVI to grant you a visa that expires 4 months after the course end date on your CAS.  Your visa will usually have a “valid from” date that is 1 month before the course start date on your CAS. From 6 February 2024, IHS will be charged at £776 for each period of visa applied for that is 6-12 months long and £388 for any period of less than 6 months.

We have a dedicated visa support team at University of Glasgow who will be able to solve any specific questions students may have, they can write to International Student Support Team directly at [email protected]. In addition to this, I am also attaching a link to our visa and immigration page: https://t.ly/JuPEH

 Accommodation

Due to the recent shortage of accommodation all over UK. We highly recommend students to apply for accommodation in advance. Students can apply for accommodations with a conditional or an unconditional offer letter. University of Glasgow guarantees all UG students an accommodation as long as they complete the registration process with the accommodation provider beforehand. They will have 6 residence halls to choose from. Costs for accommodation are GBP 600 – GBP 650 per month depending on the type of accommodation they go for. https://www.gla.ac.uk/undergraduate/accommodation/
