BUiD CAMPUS

The British University in Dubai (BUiD), situated within the Dubai International Academic City (DIAC), provides students with top-notch facilities and leverages shared resources and collaborations across the DIAC community. The campus is equipped with state-of-the-art teaching and learning resources, and through partnerships within DIAC, students and faculty gain access to shared facilities and a collaborative academic environment that enriches their educational experience.

 

                  

CLASSROOMS

The BUiD campus features 15 state-of-the-art classrooms equipped with modern teaching and learning facilities. These classrooms are designed to promote interactive learning and engagement, with multimedia systems, audiovisual equipment, and interactive whiteboards. The spacious and well-lit rooms create a comfortable atmosphere, while high-speed internet connectivity enables access to online resources. The classrooms prioritize student comfort with ergonomic furniture, acoustic design, and temperature control. Overall, the state-of-the-art classrooms at BUiD provide an advanced and conducive environment for effective teaching and learning.

 

       

       

LIBRARY

The BUiD library provides 24/7 off-campus access to a wide array of online resources and services that support the learning, teaching, and research needs of students, staff, and alumni.

The library’s collection includes an extensive range of eBooks, eJournals, and print books, along with access to various multidisciplinary and subject-specific databases. Additionally, the library serves as a repository for more than 1,800 research works by students. These resources are organised on the library website by subject area to facilitate access to materials relevant to a specific field of study or research.

The university library maintains a searchable catalogue of all print and non-print materials and provides links to all electronic resources through the library website.

The research cluster at the BUiD library features computers equipped with research databases and specialised software necessary for research. It also offers a dedicated reading room for postgraduate students and interactive ViewBoards for collaborative study.

Users can access self-service printing, photocopying, and scanning facilities, which include options for printing from library computers, USB drives, and personal devices via web printing.

ELECTROMECHANICAL ENGINEERING LABS

 At BUiD, our state-of-the-art labs provide hands-on experience to complement theoretical learning. 

  • The Digital Electronics Lab focuses on sequential and combinational logic, digital circuit design, and FPGA programming.
  • The Control Lab includes servo and thermal trainers in addition to a real-time controller board.
  • The Mechanical Lab provides students with various tools and equipment to analyze thermal energy through heat exchangers and thermal analysis tools. It also offers material testing, fluid mechanics setups, and features a dedicated 3D printing room.
  • Our Physics Lab provides scientific space for experiments in mechanics, electromagnetism, and classic physics theories.

 With advanced technology and expert guidance, BUiD labs enhance education and prepare students for successful engineering careers.

 

      

      

IT LAB

At the BUiD there are two well-equipped computer labs designed to support students in their learning endeavors. These labs are equipped with a comprehensive range of software tools and applications to aid students in various academic disciplines. Both computer labs at BUiD are designed to provide students with the necessary tools and resources to enhance their learning experience. These labs ensure that students have access to the software applications relevant to their academic pursuits and enable them to acquire hands-on experience with industry-standard tools.

A multipurpose auditorium is a flexible space designed for various events like conferences, workshops, training sessions, teaching activities, open days, public lectures, and celebrations. It features comfortable seating arrangements with clear visibility of the stage or presentation area. The auditorium includes a stage equipped with audiovisual systems and lighting to support effective communication. It also incorporates state-of-the-art audiovisual technology for sound systems, projectors, screens, and video conferencing capabilities. The lighting can be adjusted to create different atmospheres, and acoustic considerations ensure clear sound quality. Additional spaces like breakout rooms or exhibition areas may be included. The auditorium prioritizes accessibility, providing features for people with disabilities. Overall, it serves as a versatile hub for diverse activities, promoting collaboration, learning, and engagement.

 

       

                               

DIAC SPORTS COURTS

The DIAC Sports Zone is an outdoor sports facility that offers convenient access to a variety of outdoor sports courts for the community’s fitness and recreational needs with options ranging from. The British University in Dubai students are welcome to use these facilities.

At the British University in Dubai (BUiD), the utmost priority is the well-being of both students and staff. Our dedicated security team maintains a vigilant 24/7 presence on campus, guaranteeing the safety and security of all individuals, including students, faculty, and staff. Furthermore, our campus is equipped with state-of-the-art CCTV technology, and the surrounding area is continuously monitored by DIAC Security team through its own comprehensive CCTV systems.

LOST AND FOUND SERVICES

Lost & Found Services at the BUiD campus diligently safeguards unattended items discovered on the premises, allowing their rightful owners to retrieve them at their convenience. To inquire about a lost item, kindly visit the BUiD security desk situated on the 1st floor, located between Block 10 and 11. In the event of any lost items within the DIAC campus, please contact the main DIAC security control room situated in Block 9, DIAC.

PRAYER ROOM

Students, employees, and visitors have access to separate prayer rooms for males and females, conveniently located on the ground floor of Block 12.

FOOD COURT | DINING SPACE

The Food Court, situated within the Dubai International Academic City (DIAC) campus, is a bustling dining destination catering to BUiD students, staff, and visitors. It features a diverse collection of national and international restaurants and coffee shops, ensuring that everyone, from students seeking a quick bite between classes to staff members looking for a leisurely meal, as well as visitors exploring the area, can find a culinary experience to suit their tastes.

HEALTH CARE SERVICES

The British University in Dubai (BUiD) enjoys close proximity to an array of medical facilities, all designed to safeguard the health and well-being of its students and staff. This prime location within DIAC offers easy access to a range of healthcare services, including notable clinics like ASTER Clinic, Healthhub, Symbiosis Medical Centre, and Fakeeh University Hospital, catering effectively to the healthcare needs of the community.

 

COUNSELLING SERVICE

Personal counselling services for students provide essential support to help them navigate social and emotional challenges. These services offer a safe space for students to discuss personal issues, manage stress, and develop coping strategies. Counselors work with students to address concerns such as anxiety, depression, academic pressure, relationship issues, and career decisions. By fostering a supportive environment, personal counseling helps students enhance their well-being, improve academic performance, and build resilience. 

Counselling Services are available to all students (UG, PG & PhD) and staff.  BUiD counsellor, Ms Rajul Chander is available from 3pm to 5pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you have any personal, interpersonal or academic concerns for which you need counselling support, you can take an appointment with her at the Counselling Office through the email id [email protected] and she will schedule an appointment accordingly.

EMERGENCY CARE SERVICES

Dubai takes pride in its exceptionally efficient and cutting-edge ambulance service, a pivotal element in safeguarding the welfare of both its residents and guests.
