BUiD students participate in an educational trip to the United Kingdom

In the fifteen years of The British University in Dubai (BUiD), regular educational visits to the UK have formed an important part of the University’s student experience.  This year for the first time, BUiD was able to include undergraduate students from its initial cohort who started our new Bachelors programmes this year.

At the end of June/early July, a group of BUiD postgraduates and undergraduates travelled to the United Kingdom on an educational trip, accompanied by the Registrar and Chief Administrative Officer. The trip included visits to Rolls-Royce in Derby, the Universities of Edinburgh and Glasgow, the UK’s largest onshore wind farm at Whitelee in Scotland, as well as two days exploring the sights of London.

During the trip, students attended workshops at the Rolls-Royce plant in Derby.  They also toured the Technology Centre, the Apprentice Academy, and the Heritage Exhibition.

The trip also afforded senior BUiD staff the opportunity to meet with their UK Universities Alliance partners in Edinburgh and Glasgow, and to visit the Manufacturing Technology Centre in Coventry, where they held productive meetings with Rolls-Royce managers to discuss plans to develop further the ongoing relationship between the two partners.
