BUiD Education students participate in a students research conference
BUiD students from the Faculty of Education along with Dr Christopher Hill, Associate Professor and Director of Doctoral Training Centre, travelled to the UK for an educational trip. On 14 June 2019, they were hosted by The University of Westminster and were able to take part in an international colloquium. The students spent two hours discussing their research, attending conferences and learning how to get the most out of them, developing research that benefits society and how to work internationally.
On 17 June 2019, students attended a series of research presentations at the University of Glasgow. The group discussed good practice, developing research skills and how to work with the local community to ensure relevant and valuable outputs to research activity.
Students visited St Barbara’s Primary School on 18 June 2019. Upon arrival, they were given a tour of the school by student ambassadors then had the chance to meet the headmistress and all the teachers. Also, they were treated to a school assembly where each school year group performed a traditional Scottish song or poem.
On 19 June 2019, All BUiD students along with students from the University of Glasgow presented their research work during an international student research conference. Prof Stephen McKinney delivered a professional development workshop, for all attendees, on getting their work published.
