BUiD Registrar and Chief Administrative Officer is selected as a judge at the Tatawwar Competition
Hugh Martin, Registrar and Chief Administrative Officer, was selected along with other thought leaders in the fields of education, investment, government, and the law, to speak at the Future Skills Roundtable and judge at the Tatawwar event, which was held on 29 February at Dwight School Dubai.
The event involved a filmed roundtable in which they discussed trends in education and considered ways in which the school, university, private and government sectors can better work together to meet future needs.
The main event was the first round judging of the Dubai semi-final of the Tatawwar competition, in which high school students presented their prototypes of designs and initiatives they have come up with to meet UN Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG). The second round of judging will involve the judges looking at costings of the students’ prototypes to decide who goes forward to the Finals in Oman, where the finalists of the eight Middle Eastern countries involved will be judged.
The Tatawwar interactive programme is organised by HSBC in partnership with potential.com. The programme bring aims to bring together students, schools, parents and the business community to help innovate for a shared future. It also provides 15-18 year olds with the opportunity to learn new business skills.
