BUiD’s alumna is appointed as the Director General of the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA)
BUiD’s alumna, Dr Tarifa Ajeif Alzaabi, has been appointed as the Centre’s new Director General, becoming the first Emirati to hold the position since ICBA’s foundation in 1999.In her role, Dr Alzaabi works on promoting sustainable agricultural development and transformation of food systems through capacity development, women and youth engagement.
ICBA is an international, not-for-profit applied agricultural research centre. ICBA focuses on improving food security and nutrition, enhancing water security and environmental sustainability, and creating jobs and livelihoods in marginal environments, the areas of the world which face the problems of salinity, water scarcity and drought, among others.
