BUiD’s alumnus contributes a chapter in a book about managing global strategic infrastructure projects

Dr Samih Yehia, BUiD’s graduate of PhD in Business Management along with Professor Ashly Pinnington contributed a chapter in a book titled, ‘Routledge Handbook of Planning and Management of Global Strategic Infrastructure Projects’. the book is also edited by two of BUiD’s academic staff, Professor Edward Ochieng and Dr Sulafa Badi, along with Dr Tarila Zuofa.

In their chapter, ‘Planning for sustainable infrastructure development during mega-events: An Expo 2020 case study’, Dr Yehia and Professor Pinnington aim to understand the sustainable infrastructure development that a host city should adopt along with the legacy considerations. The chapter focuses on assessing Dubai’s sustainability practices in different infrastructure sectors, and evaluates how they contribute to the creation of a long-lasting, positive legacy in achieving the target to design and implement a sustainable mega-event.
