Hugh Martin, BUiD’s Registrar and Chief Administrative Officer, published an article in the Times Higher Education (THE).
In his article featured on THE Campus, ‘Western universities need to look further afield or risk alienation’, Hugh argues that so many institutions have their heads in the sand, but if they create true international partnerships, they can reap great rewards.
He highlights the importance of those partnerships and working with international, non-WEIRD institutions for mutual benefits.
Student mobility used to be one way: towards WEIRD, from everywhere else. Now students see value in more than a term or semester abroad and western higher education institutions need to meet that challenge by working alongside their global university colleagues as equals.
