BUiD’s Vice Chancellor speaks about the future of internship after COVID -19
On 26 October 2020, Prof. Abdullah Alshamsi, BUiD’s Vice Chancellor, participated in a webinar about the future of internship after COVID -19. The webinar was organised and hosted by the University of Dubai. Experts from six UAE universities participated in the discussion which focused on the universities’ perspectives of students’ internship.
Prof. Abdullah thinks that the students’ internship should be revised to suit the different disciplines students are studying. As the job markets are changing, educational institutions and organisations need to collaborate and agree on how to mutually benefit from the internship. He added that physical attendance now is not essential and a blended approach is more suitable as many jobs can be done remotely.
