The British University in Dubai Participates in IT Law Moot Court Competition

The British University in Dubai (BUiD) participated in the IT Law Moot Court Competition hosted by the British University in Egypt from August 9th to 15th, 2024. The competition brought together 23 teams from leading universities across the Middle East and Africa, including BUiD’s talented team of four students.

The competition featured a panel of distinguished legal experts and influential figures, including Dr. Omar Makky, President of the ICRC delegation to the Middle East, and Abdel Wahab Abdelrazek, Speaker of the Egyptian Senate. BUiD’s team showcased exceptional legal acumen, particularly in the preliminary rounds, where they competed against teams from the University of Alexandria and Al Azhar University, earning high praise for their well-structured arguments and responsiveness to judges’ questions.

BUiD’s team advanced to the quarter-finals, making it the only non-Egyptian university to qualify. The team won the runner-up award for Best Memorial.
