Muntaha Badawieh

I am thrilled to share my success story of obtaining a Master of Education in Special and Inclusive Education at The British University in Dubai (BUiD). This journey not only helped me develop my knowledge and best practices towards inclusion within the school community but also provided me with a platform to showcase my research, participate in conferences, and achieve international recognition. Studying at BUiD has undoubtedly played a pivotal role in shaping my knowledge and understanding of best practices in inclusive education. The University’s curriculum, faculty, and resources have provided me with a solid foundation to excel in this specialised field.

The Master of Education programme at BUiD offered me a comprehensive understanding of special and inclusive education, covering topics such as differentiated instruction, assessment and evaluation, educational polices, and curriculum design. The programme emphasised the importance of inclusive education and provided me with the skills and knowledge to create an inclusive learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of all students.

One of the highlights of the programme was the opportunity to participate in a doctoral research conference. This experience allowed me to present my research and network with other educators and researchers in the field. The conference provided a platform for me to showcase my work and receive feedback from experts, which helped me refine my research and improve my skills. My hard work and dedication paid off when I won the best presentation award at the conference in 2021. My paper was also selected for publishing by Springer, and I received international recognition for my research. This achievement not only boosted my confidence but also opened up new opportunities for me in the field of special and inclusive education.

Currently, I am continuing my educational journey by pursuing a doctorate degree at BUiD. This decision demonstrates my dedication to continuous learning, research, and professional growth.

Wesam Aldawood

My name is Wesam Suliman. My journey from an English literature graduate to a PhD candidate has been shaped by my experiences, my passion for learning, and the unwavering support of The British University in Dubai (BUID).

My journey began when I landed a job at a translation centre as a secretary. It was a valuable experience, but I soon realised that it did not align with my long-term career goals and passions. I knew I wanted to make a meaningful impact in the academic field, so I embarked on a new path.

After extensive searching, I transitioned into a role as an English teacher for both public and private schools. Over nearly a decade, I honed my teaching skills, gained valuable experience, and felt a sense of fulfilment in shaping young minds. However, I also knew that I was ready for a new challenge.

With a desire for growth and personal development, I made the bold decision to shift my career once more. I ventured into the field of administration and found my current position as a Senior Student Affairs Coordinator

Working in a dynamic and innovative academic environment, surrounded by dedicated professionals, has been a motivating force in my journey. It inspired me to pursue higher education to contribute further to the field of education. I earned my Master’s degree in TESOL from BUiD, with a deep focus on research-based teaching methodologies.

My passion for understanding how things work and my experience in research during my Master’s studies led me to pursue a PhD at BUID, where the emphasis on research-based teaching methods aligns perfectly with my goals.

I am deeply grateful to BUID for being a pivotal part of my educational and professional journey. The support, resources, and academic rigour have been instrumental in shaping my career. I am honoured to share my story with fellow alumni and current students.

Hamdan Al Mulla

I am Engineer Hamdan Al Mulla, Director of Projects at Nakheel, and I am proudly an alumni of British University in Dubai.

Allow me to share my story with you, I have achieved remarkable feats since graduating from the university with a Master degree in Project Management. I have embarked on a journey filled with ambition and determination. My journey in the dynamic world of real estate began with a vision and determination, after completing my Master and joining Nakheel, marked the beginning of an incredible chapter in my career.

Over the years, I was entrusted with managing high profile projects from luxury residential developments to iconic commercial spaces. One of the highlights of my journey was leading a multi-million dirham project that transformed a prime location in Dubai into a thriving residential community. This accomplishment showcased my ability to drive results and lead cross functional teams effectively.

Today, as a professional engineer with over 15 years of experience, I’ve climbed the ranks at Nakheel and now hold a key leadership role. I continue to be inspired by the ever evolving Dubai property market, towards even greater heights. My success story is a testament to hard work, university experience and faculty encouragement.

Dr Khaled Mohammad Ahmad Alomari

I am Khaled Mohammad Ahmad Alomari, an alumnus of BUiD, and it gives me immense pleasure to recount my journey post-graduation, highlighting various milestones and achievements in my professional and academic career.

After obtaining my Ph.D. in Computer Science from BUiD (2014–2017), focusing on Predicting Mobile Game Success Using Data Analytics, I have been making strides in the academic world. I am currently employed as an Associate Professor of IT at Abu Dhabi University, where I have been serving since June 2023. Before this role, I contributed as an Assistant Professor, Senior Instructor, and Instructor of IT at the same institution. My tenure also includes a valuable stint as an Academic Coordinator from August 2020 until August 2022.

My journey began with a solid foundation built at the British University in Dubai, where I was immersed in a rich learning environment that significantly contributed to my growth and academic accomplishments. With great pride and humility, I detail my progress in the extensive realm of research, wherein I have been able to make meaningful contributions in constructing a robust legal framework for dispute resolution within the highlighting the need for innovative solutions in this novel digital space. This work is part of my broader research agenda, which includes significant projects such as developing agent-based modelling for crowd evacuation in electric train cabins, assessing the impact of quality mobile e-government services on service usage, exploring the adoption dynamics of metaverse systems, and employing machine learning to predict social media usage patterns among UAE medical students. I’ve also undertaken impactful research in the fields of human resources and digital gaming, where most of these research projects have helped me to gain proficiency in Python and R languages, in which I actively engage in various analyses, including machine learning, PLS-SEM, and regression analysis.

Additionally, I serve as a journal reviewer for the Journal of King Saud University and the Journal of Intelligent & Fuzzy Systems, a responsibility that I undertake with the utmost commitment to uphold the quality and integrity of scholarly publications.

The invaluable guidance and support from esteemed professors and advisors such as Prof. Khaled Shaalan, Prof. Cornelius Ncube, Prof. Bassam, and Prof. Sharif during my time at the British University in Dubai have been instrumental in shaping my academic journey. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to staff members like the wonderful Miss Christine and Dr. Amer, whose continuous support has been fundamental to my progress. Special acknowledgment goes to Prof Abdullah Alshamsi for his unwavering support and motivation that have played a substantial role in my academic voyage.
