Dr Jamila Juma Al Maazmi  – PhD in Project Management

Dr Jamila Juma Al Maazmi, Manager – Transmission Power Projects (400Kv SS/Cable/OHL), works at Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA), Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

 

Dr Al Maazmi is a self-managed and results-oriented manager with more than 20 years’ experience in the fields of management (including strategy, performance, project, asset, and enterprise risk), crisis and business continuity planning, the Dubai government excellence system, corporate governance, and corporate sustainability.

 

Dr Al Maazmi graduated from United Arab Emirates University in Al Ain with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering in 2001; she then obtained her Master’s degree in Mechatronics from American University of Sharjah in 2007; finally, she gained her PhD in Project Management from The British University in Dubai in 2020. She also undertook the Diploma in Women’s Leadership offered by the Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government in 2011.

 

Dr Al Maazmi is a member of many international institutes including the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (USA), the Project Management Institute (USA) and the Dubai Business Women Council. In addition, she was one of the founders of the DEWA Women’s Committee from 2010 to 2014, which contributed in laying the foundations and objectives of the committee and achieving many of its goals, the most important of which has been highlighting the need to empower women in all entrepreneurial and professional fields.

 

Dr Al Maazmi has successfully distinguished herself among her peers by winning many local and international awards, including 1st place in the DEWA Excellence awards as a Distinguished Specialised Employee Award in year 2020 and a Distinguished Female Award in year 2010, and winning a silver award in the International Award (Ideas America) in 2021 for the best programme administrator of the year.

 

She has published widely and has participated in many international conferences.

 

She is an active member in Sharjah’s volunteer centre for community cohesion, and keenly participates in many voluntary events.

 

Dr Al Maazmi is always looking to provide valued additions to her company towards achieving its corporate goals and at the same time find opportunities to apply the knowledge and skills she has acquired as this contributes to being part of a team that works dynamically for the growth and success of the organisation.
