Dr Mariam Alghawi – Doctor of Education 

Dr Mariam Alghawi –Educational Consultant and Expert- has been the Director of the Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Centre for Giftedness and Innovation of Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Distinguished Academic Performance in Dubai government – United Arab Emirates. She is an Associate Faculty at Hamdan bin Mohammed Smart University.

Dr Mariam Alghawi pursued her postgraduate degrees (Doctoral and Master) in Education at the British University in Dubai (BUiD) in special education “inclusion / gifted education”.

In addition, she pursued a postgraduate diploma in Public Policy from the Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government in Dubai and the Public Sector Innovation Diploma from Cambridge Business School & Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation. She worked as an Acting Deputy Director of the Special Abilities Department at the UAE Ministry of Education. She created and supervised educational policies and programs for gifted students and students of determination (special needs).

She is a member of the European Council for High Ability (ECHA), the World Council for Gifted and

Talented Children (WCGTC) in the capacity of the country delegate, and the Arab Council for Giftedness.

She is the Director of the Gulf Council of Giftedness and the World Giftedness Centre. She was Awarded Rashid Scientific Award for her contribution to science development in the country and was awarded as the best supervisor of special needs by the Ministry of Education. Her main research interest is in gifted education, identification, enrichment, evaluation, and assessment of gifted programs. She has several published articles in peer-reviewed journals.
