Short Bio

Dr. Basim Touqan is an Electrical Engineer with more than 25 years of insightful technical hands-on experience across Middle East, and significant exposure in developing and designing industrial technical solutions and related after sales maintenance and operational training. He was awarded the Degrees of Bachelors of Science (BSc) in Electrical Engineering in 1995, from Aleppo University, Aleppo-Syria and Master of Science (MSc) in Industrial System Engineering & Automatic Control in 2014, from the British University in Dubai (BUiD), Dubai-UAE.

 

In 2019, Dr. Basim gained his PhD in Engineering Systems Modelling, Simulation and Control from the British University in Dubai (BUiD), and prior to joining the British University in Dubai, he worked with a world leader German company namely SIEMENS which is specialized mainly in Electrification and digital applications as well as industrial technical solution design and execution.

 

Dr. Basim started his academic teaching in the faculty of Engineering & IT of BUiD with solid research and practical technical experience facilitating student learning in the area of Electrical Electronic Engineering, Physics, Engineering Software (MATLAB), and industrial system analysis, modeling and control.
