Short Bio

Dr. Daniel Woods is the joint BUiD/Edinburgh Assistant Professor in Cyber Security. This is a joint appointment between BUiD’s Faculty of Engineering and IT and the University of Edinburgh’s School of Informatics. At BUiD, he teaches courses on cybersecurity management, policy and leadership. He researches the economics of information security focusing on cyber insurance, incident response, and quantifying cyber risk. He received his PhD from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Oxford. He was a Marie Curie Fellow at the University of Innsbruck and a Fulbright Cybersecurity Scholar at the University of Tulsa.
