 SHORT BIO:

Derar Al-Daboubi is Assistant Professor of International Commercial Law and Maritime Law in The British University in Dubai. Prior to entering in BUiD, Derar was a member of academic staff at faculty of law in Al-Ahliyya Amman University in Jordan, where he was also in the capacity of Department Head of Private Law. Derar also has expertise in peacekeeping and investigation at the United Nations. Before, he was working as a general prosecutor at the judiciary Council and Ministry of Interior in Jordan. Derar received his PhD in International Commercial Law and Maritime Law from the Royal Hollway, University of London, UK. He has authored more than 15 scholarly works at international peer-reviewed journals. He has acted as internal examiner and supervisor for the LLM programme at Al-Ahliyya Amman University, Jordan.
