Short Bio

Dr. Pillai earned her Master of Commerce in Finance and Accounting from the University of Kerala, India, followed by a Ph.D. in Finance from Banasthali University, India. She also completed post-doctoral research in Management at Universiti Malaysia Perlis, Malaysia. With over 20 years of teaching experience in the UAE, including roles at Ajman University and Emirates Aviation University, Dr. Pillai has received several accolades, such as the Best Reviewer Award 2024 from the SEE Global Sustainability Summit in Dubai, the Best Adjunct Faculty Award 2023 from Ajman University, and the Outstanding Faculty Award 2019 from Emirates Aviation University. Her research interests encompass behavioral finance, corporate governance, ESG, Internet financial reporting, and organizational behavior. Her scholarly work has been published in reputable journals including Business Ethics, the Environment and Responsibility, Journal of Management and Governance, Economic Modelling, Borsa Istanbul Review, and Leadership and Organisation Development Journal. Additionally, she serves as a registered research lead and supervisor for MBA theses at York St John University, UK, and the University of the West of Scotland, Scotland, specifically for GCC students.
