Professor Ochieng has an acute understanding of project management at the undergraduate, postgraduate and executive teaching levels. He has demonstrated his insights into curriculum development by partnering with industrialists to develop blended undergraduate, postgraduate, and executive programmes. Several academic institutions have invited him to act as a programme reviewer, and several HEIs have also invited him to provide specialist curriculum advice on developing project management, engineering, and business management programmes at validation events. He has supervised 26 PhD students to completion and over 300 MSc/MBA industrial projects by research. He is currently supervising 10 PhD students. Professor Ochieng has examined PhD students from the following institutions: University of South Australia, Loughborough University (UK), University of Liverpool (UK), University of Salford Manchester (UK), Coventry University(UK), Robert Gordon University (UK), University of the West of England-Bristol (UK), Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand) and Universiti Tenaga Nasional, The Energy University, Malaysia.
