The objective of the Health and Safety Manual at the British University in Dubai (BUiD) is to ensure the well-being of all campus members—students, faculty, staff, and visitors—by providing clear guidelines and procedures that promote a healthy, safe, and secure environment. Specifically, the manual aims to:
Ensure Compliance: Align with the UAE Ministry of Education Health and Safety Management framework and other relevant local and international health and safety regulations.
Prevent Accidents and Illnesses: Identify potential hazards and implement measures to reduce the risk of injury, illness, and accidents on campus.
Promote Awareness: Foster a culture of health and safety through training, communication, and awareness programs to ensure everyone understands their role in maintaining a safe environment.
Emergency Preparedness: Establish clear procedures for responding to emergencies, such as fire, medical incidents, and other crises, to protect life and property.
Continuous Improvement: Regularly review and update health and safety practices, responding to new risks and regulatory requirements to ensure ongoing protection.
Support a Safe Learning Environment: Facilitate a conducive learning and working environment by minimizing disruptions related to health and safety incidents.
