The University Emergency Response and Campus Safe Zone Guidelines explain how students and staff should respond during emergencies to stay safe and protected. The guidelines outline key emergency procedures, designated Safe Zones, evacuation routes, and expected behaviour during alerts. They provide clear instructions for sheltering in place or evacuating safely, depending on the situation. A strong emphasis is placed on following official University communications, staying calm, and moving in an orderly manner. Trained teams, including the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Evacuation Team, support and manage incidents on campus. The Core Safety Principles prioritise personal safety above all else, ensuring that life is never put at risk. All students and staff are required to be familiar with their nearest Safe Zone to allow quick and confident action during emergencies.
