BUiD’s academic staff publish their research in 2024 International Congress on Human-Computer Interaction, Optimization and Robotic Applications (HORA)

Dr Basim Touqan, Assistant Professor of Engineering, and Prof.  Alaa Abdul-Ameer, Head of Engineering programmes, published their research, ‘Transfer Function Matrix Derivation for Improved Control and Stability in HVAC Systems Performance’ in the 2024 International Congress on Human-Computer Interaction, Optimization and Robotic Applications (HORA). Their paper demonstrates the development and application of transfer function matrix representing a multivariable HVAC system, highlighting its essential role in control and regulatory aspects, particularly within automatic control strategies. Leveraging a readymade mathematical model inclusive of distributed and lumped parameter components, forms the foundation for extracting this matrix, ensuring a precise representation of system dynamics.
