BUiD’s academic staff publishes his research in the Transactions on Maritime Science journal

Dr Derar Al-Daboubi, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Business and Law, shared his research titled, ‘Right of Issuing Bank to be Subrogated to the Applicant of Letter of Credit under the Contract of Goods Insurance’, which was published in the Transactions on Maritime Science journal

In his paper, Dr Al-Daboubi, discusses the case where the efforts of the issuing bank prove futile to recovering the payment from the applicant of the letter of credit. In particular, when the sold goods received damaged or lost. This scenario is envisaged when the applicant refuses to make the payment imposed under the letter of credit.
